Brian Lopez | Byron Wulf

I’ve always been a weird kid. I didn’t grow out of my weird phase — I grew into it.

Since before I could talk, I was drawn to mystery. To stories with masks and monsters. To questions that didn’t have clean answers. Not because they were scary — but because they felt true. There’s a kind of beauty in darkness that’s more honest than light. A kind of meaning that only reveals itself in the static, the silence, the dream.

As I grew, so did the stories I followed. Cartoons turned to cinema. Ghost forums turned to myth. What stayed the same was the feeling — the gravity of the unknown. The sense that behind the veil, something more was waiting.

I chase truth in twilight.

Beauty in shadows. Signal in the strange.

Everything I create — films, essays, poetry, myth, fiction — is rooted in that. A love for the symbolic, the sacred, the surreal. The stuff that haunts us, not like a ghost, but like a memory we can’t stop dreaming about.

This is The Midnight Signal — a home for transmissions from beyond the veil and reflections of the soul.
